What we collect, what we don't, and why.

Last updated May 2026

This is a plain-English summary of how Nara handles your data. We aim to collect only what we need to make the service work and to support you when you need help.

What we collect

  • Account info — your email address and (if you sign in with Google) your name and profile picture. We store these in Supabase Auth.
  • Manuscripts and generated audio — anything you upload, plus the chapter MP3s Nara generates. Stored in Cloudflare R2, accessible only through authenticated requests from your account.
  • Project metadata — chapter structure, voice assignments, cover image, and the timestamps that let us track which projects are paid for or published.
  • Payment metadata — Stripe Checkout session IDs and transaction status. We never see or store your card number; that lives only at Stripe.
  • Basic logs — server-side request logs (timestamps, paths, IP) for debugging and abuse prevention. Retained for ~30 days.

What we don't collect

  • We don't embed third-party tracking pixels or behavioral ad networks.
  • We don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
  • We don't use your manuscripts to train Nara's models or any third-party model.

Third parties we share with

To run the service we share specific data with these processors:

  • Supabase (auth + database) — your account email and project metadata.
  • Cloudflare R2 (object storage) — your uploaded source files and generated audio.
  • Stripe (payments) — your billing email and the line-item amount, when you check out.
  • Resend (transactional email) — your email address when we send a publish confirmation or other service email.
  • TTS providers (Google, ElevenLabs, etc.) — the chapter text we narrate. Audio is generated and returned; we don't let providers retain it for training.

If you publish to Azalea

When you push an audiobook to the Azalea marketplace, the audio files and a small metadata record (title, author, rights holder) become public on Azalea. Listener analytics live on Azalea's side. You can unlist a title at any time and your files stay yours.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or close your account at any time. Email help@azalea-labs.com and we'll get back to you within a reasonable window. Deletion will be limited only where we're legally required to retain something (e.g. payment records for tax purposes).

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember session state. We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Changes

If we change anything material in this policy we'll notify you by email or in-app banner before the change takes effect.
